The Japanese company Toyota, when it established itself in the United States, maintained its management philosophy (The Toyota Way) and beat out the big three automobile manufacturers Ford, Chrysler and GM, whose management is inspired by Taylorism. The managerial concept of this company includes continuous improvement, exchanges in the field, respect for people and teamwork in a climate of mutual trust.

Such an approach could serve as a model for the overhaul of our health system: the steps of what to do, how to do, and do must be integrated into a dynamic and bidirectional continuum of sharing of tasks, responsibilities and accountability.
