The government plans to lower the Health Insurance reimbursement rate from 70 to 60%.

25 billion euros is the deficit that social security could reach next year. So to make emergency savings, several avenues have already been put forward in addition to the postponement of the increase in pensions. The government is working on a reduction in reimbursement for medical consultations.

The coverage rate would drop from 70 to 60% with a transfer of the burden to mutual insurance companies. They would then have to reimburse 40% of the price of consultations compared to 30% currently. Supplementary health contributions were already due to increase in 2025 by between four and 10% depending on the contracts. Depending on government announcements, this increase could be even greater.
