What will become the Moselle Open ? A hearing was to decide the fate of the tournament, this Tuesday, October 18, but it will ultimately not take place. According to information from France Bleu, a mediation procedure must try to reconcile the different parties of this affair, this Wednesday.
The 2022 edition, marked by a very beautiful line-up
, had left many questions behind the scenes at the end of September. Traveling to the Moselle Open, the President of the French Tennis Federation Gilles Moretton had also come to tell his truths
in Metz.
A procedure launched by the minority shareholders
As France Bleu told you from July
tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and his friend Thierry Ascione bought the tournament, via their All In group. They became majority shareholders of the Moselle Open.
A takeover contested by the minority shareholders, who say they fear a move from the tournament
(which Tsonga disputes). They believe that the right of first refusal, which would have consisted in offering the sale to those who already held shares before opening the sale outside, was not respected. They therefore filed a summary appeal, which was to be examined on Tuesday, October 18 by the courts. But meanwhile, the buyers requested mediation, which must bring together all the parties. It will be held this Wednesday, in Paris.
What outcome?
If an agreement is reached, it would mean the end of the procedure. Otherwise, a new hearing date will be set.
