Education: Mediapart reveals a report on the private establishment Stanislas – (France info)
A report from the General Inspectorate of National Education denounces the abuses of the Stanislas private establishment, in which the children of the new Minister of Education, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, are educated.
After the controversy affecting Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, the new Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, following her comments on public schools, a hidden report on the private establishment where her children are educated was revealed by Mediapart.
The document, until now kept secret, is a report from the General Inspectorate of National Education, submitted to the minister last summer. It concerns the Stanislas school which welcomes 3,500 students, from nursery school to preparatory classes. According to revelations from Mediapart, the establishment flirts with Catholic fundamentalism.
Facts of authoritarianism, sexism and homophobia
The administrative investigation reveals that the establishment is not respecting its contract with the State, by organizing catechism classes and masses imposed on all students. Mediapart also reveals that the report mentions facts of authoritarianism, sexism and homophobia. Catholic education in Paris immediately reacted via a press release, in which it assured that these accusations are false: “These situations had been identified in the establishment and had been dealt with before the fact-finding mission.”
