Medef welcomes Tuesday October 1 in a press release, after the government’s general policy declaration, “the realistic objective” to reduce the deficit to 5% of GDP in 2025. In its press release, the employers’ union “welcomes a speech of truth as well as the realistic objective of reducing, initially, the deficit to 5% of GDP in 2025”.

“This objective cannot be achieved […] that by first and very mainly mobilizing the lever of reducing public spendingbelieves the union. In the country champion of compulsory deductions, this is a prerequisite and necessary condition for the gradual return to balance.”

“Without this prerequisite of reducing public spending, any additional contribution from companies, necessarily exceptional and measured, would be incomprehensible”continues the press release.
