The English brand McLaren presented last week the Spider version of its Artura, a plug-in hybrid supercar, just in time for the arrival of good weather.
This new livery, which continues the tradition of the Spider versions of the contemporary creations of the Woking-based firm, increases the weight of the coupe version of the model by only 62 kg without affecting the rigidity of its platform, largely made of carbon fiber. . This hardtop takes just 11 seconds to fold.
Once the cabin is uncovered, the driver and passenger can better hear the notes of its 3.0L twin-turbo V6 producing 590 hp alone. It is coupled to a 94 hp electric motor which fills power gaps and can move the car by itself thanks to a small 7.4 kWh battery. McLaren estimates that the range is then limited to 18 km.
The total power of this powertrain reaches 690 hp, achieving 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 8.4 seconds, despite using only the rear wheels in the exercise. A little crazy if we take into account the fact that it is the manufacturer’s “entry-level” model!
