A conflict within the team of the 98.5 FM return show would be involved in the dismissal of MC Gilles.

At least that’s what the star columnist suggested in a Facebook post, commenting on his abrupt withdrawal from the credits of the show hosted by Patrick Lagacé, Quebec now.
“It is not my decision,” he wrote in his missive, adding that in the circumstances, he could not dwell “on the why and how”.
“Let’s just say that the climate has worsened considerably in recent months and that it had become psychologically impossible for me to work on the return broadcast,” added the columnist, stressing that he had denounced a situation that had offended his values before being thanked some time later.

“You know me, I’m a transparent guy who always told it like it is. It was therefore with astonishment that I learned, Tuesday evening, that I had been thanked by Cogeco media,” said MC Gilles on FacebookWednesday late afternoon.
The star columnist, who also occasionally takes on the role of jester at Everybody talks about it on Sunday, will not be replaced by the end of the season.
The working relationship would have ended between the two parties “for professional reasons which remain internal”, for its part indicated the station’s communications team.
“That’s the press release we got from the station’s bosses. I will make another comment. I thank Dave-Éric for his contribution to this show and I wish him good luck in his current and future projects,” commented journalist and host Patrick Lagacé during the show. Contacted by the QMI Agency, management did not wish to make further comments on the subject.
