Last week, Mazda detailed the offering of its all-new 2025 CX-70 mid-size SUV with a view to its planned launch this spring. Due to the lack of an entry-level GS version, this newcomer will be less accessible than the 2024 CX-90.
Thus, you will have to pay $49,750 or $58,750 to get your hands on a GS-L livery of this CX-70, almost $4,000 more than the entry-level versions of the CX-90. The latter has the same exterior dimensions, but incorporates a third row at the rear for more versatility. Other CX-70 liveries, however, are nearly $1,000 less expensive (GT, GT-P and Signature).
Mechanically, the two models are powered by the same engines, two 3.3L six-cylinder turbocharged mild hybrids with 280 hp or 340 hp. A plug-in hybrid unit consisting of a 2.5L four-cylinder (323 hp) capable of a range of 42 km completes the package. Depending on the engines chosen, the towing capacity is 1588 kg (3500 lb) or 2267 kg (5000 lb). A curious positioning, it goes without saying.
