Manage my choices

Six athletes in total have been selected but only four will run in the heats. At the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Sounkamba Sylla had already been selected for the relay but she was finally replaced on D-Day.

This time again, the 24-year-old sprinter will know at the last moment if she is chosen to participate in the relay. It’s not easy to prepare in this context, she assures France Bleu Mayenne: “It can be hard mentally. What’s important in the preparation phase is to give yourself as if we were going to race and not think that we might stay on the substitutes’ bench. You shouldn’t have any regrets, you you have to give your all whether you are a starter or not. There are many criteria such as the regularity of the lap times, the performances of the season, what happened during the preparatory training course. Frankly, it’s still super top of the line. to be in the France team and I really want to pass the course and become a starter”.

The women’s 4×400 series are scheduled for this Saturday, July 23 at 2:10 a.m. French time. Sounkamba Sylla had a very good season in the 400m with several lap times below 53 seconds.
