A state visit from the Queen of the Netherlands is necessarily synonymous with big smiles and dazzling outfits! On November 9, 2021, Maxima and her husband King Willem-Alexander arrived in Norway for an official three-day trip. As soon as she arrived, the 50-year-old sovereign delighted the Norwegians with her contagious good humor and her colorful looks. Tuesday evening, at the royal palace in Oslo, the Dutch couple were in their thirty-one for the traditional state dinner.
On the arm of King Harald of Norway, Maxima appeared radiant in her blue strapless dress and transparent veil cape signed Jan Taminiau. The mother of Princesses Catharina, Alexia and Ariane (who stayed at home) had already worn this set during a state visit to the United Kingdom in 2018. But if there is one accessory that was at the center of all the attentions, it is its majestic tiara in diamonds and sapphires, accompanied by its finery. The guests were also treated to a veritable parade of crowned heads since Queen Sonja of Norway had brought out her emerald tiara.
With green and blue already priced, Princess Martha of Norway has bet on purple with her amethyst tiara. Her sister-in-law, Princess and future Queen Mette-Marit (wife of Crown Prince Haakon) was more “sober” with her diamond bandeau tiara. After a very formal entry, followed by an official photo shoot in one of the halls of the palace, kings, queens and princesses took their places for the banquet. Obviously, King Harald did not last long against the charm of Queen Maxima, showing wide smiles. The good humor was on the other hand more discreet on the side of his wife Queen Sonja …
Ceremony in tribute to the victims of the Second World War, visit to the Fram museum, conference on human rights and freedom at the Deichman library, visit to the Akershus fortress … In just 24 hours, King Willem -Alexander and his wife Maxima made several visits alongside their hosts. The Royal Marathon will continue until November 11.
