The bets were on how long Lando Norris would hold off Max Verstappen and it didn’t last long. Starting in first place on the grid, the McLaren driver gave up his position at the first corner to the Dutchman, who then took off to quietly win the sprint race of the Brazilian Grand Prix, Saturday November 4. His fourth success in the exercise this season and his 20th victory of 2023, Grand Prix and sprint races combined (out of 25 possible). And it is he who will start from pole position on Sunday in front of Charles Leclerc.

Lando Norris finished second in the sprint and Sergio Pérez, who battled with George Russell, completed the podium. The French Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, whose car was barely repaired after a violent collision with Fernando Alonso during qualifying on Friday, finished 13th and 14th, scoring no points.
