Mauricie | A tug dies on the A40

(Yamachiche) A 35-year-old tugboat died after the vehicle he was driving made a violent exit from the road on Sunday afternoon on Highway 40, near Yamachiche, in the Mauricie region.






The emergency services were called around 3:30 p.m. to go to kilometer 181 of Highway 40 westbound, reported the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

“According to the information received, the driver of the tow truck would have, for a reason unknown at the moment, left the roadway, crossed the right shoulder to then hit trees,” said Sergeant Louis-Philippe Bibeau, a porter. word of the SQ.

Under the force of the impact, the driver was “seriously injured” and taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A police officer specializing in collision investigation was dispatched to the scene.

An investigation by the SQ is underway to clarify the circumstances of this event. The CNESST will also conduct an investigation, since the accident allegedly occurred while the man was on his working hours.
