The world of cinema has been in mourning since October 28, when Matthew Perry, famous for his role as Chandler Bing in the television series Friends, was found dead in the jacuzzi of his Los Angeles villa. Since the tragedy, tributes have been pouring in massively on social networks. Personalities like Alyssa Milano, Maggie Wheeler and Aisha Tyler notably expressed their grief and paid tribute to the late actor.
Selma Blair shared her sentiment, saying: “We all loved Matthew Perry, and I especially loved him. Every day. I loved him unconditionally. And he loved me. And I’m devastated. I’m heartbroken. Sweet dreams Matthew.” Shannen Doherty, meanwhile, added: “His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of so many. We send our love to his family, loved ones, and all of his devoted fans.”
Even Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister, wanted to pay tribute to his school friend. “The passing of Matthew Perry is sad and heartbreaking. I will never forget our schoolyard games, and I know that people around the world will not forget the joy you brought them. Thank you for all the laughter, Matthew. You were loved, and you will be missed.”

Friends actors break the silence
For its part, the casting of Friends is devastated. Silent since the news, Matt LeBlanc, who played the role of Joey Tribbiani in the fiction, finally took over his Instagram account in order to honor the memory of his friend. “It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to you”, he writes. “The times we spent together are honestly some of the best times of my life. It was an honor to share the stage with you and call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I will never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly my brother, you are finally free. I love you. And I guess you keep the $20 you owe me.” A touching post which sparked strong reactions.
