After one stage full of twists and turns on the roads of Calabria, place for the loop in the streets of Naples. For the eighth stage of the Giro, Saturday May 14, the riders of the Tour of Italy will start from the center of Naples to complete a loop of 153 kilometers around the city, fully contested on urban roads.
After a first hill, the riders will cover the narrow circuit of Monte di Procida (19 km) four times. They will then face a 14% gradient to Lago Lucino, where they will leave the circuit at the end of the last lap. The last three kilometers will run through the heart of downtown Naples.
At the start of the stage, Spaniard Juan Pedro Lopez (Trek-Segafredo) is always pink shirt. He is 38 seconds ahead of the German Lennard Kämna (Bora-Hansgrohe) and 58 seconds over the Estonian Rein Taaramäe (Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux).
