It is in response to a challenge launched by his admirers in April 2020 that comedian Mathieu Dufour decided to put on a show at the Bell Center in Montreal. A crazy idea that has not only become reality, but now exceeds all expectations.
On sale since Monday noon, the tickets for the show sold out so quickly that the configuration of the hall had to be reviewed. The first 6000 tickets sold out in less than two hours, so the producers evenko and Juste pour Rire! were forced to open the entire amphitheater to fans of the comedian, who will therefore be able to perform on July 23 in front of 12,000 spectators.
“I can’t believe I’m doing THE BELL CENTER!” Exclaimed Mathieu Dufour in a press release. This show will follow the one presented at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts on February 11, an event for which tickets were sold in December 2019, once again at record speed.
“Mathieu is an extremely stimulating artist, we must always be ready for anything,” said Patrick Rozon, vice-president of francophone content for the Just for Laughs Group in the press release. He manages to drag us along with him in his follies, it’s super motivating for a producer. There are no limits for Mathieu, and for us either! “
Mathieu Dufour is visible on stage and on TV, where he has made many appearances. He notably animated the series I work here, which is still available for free on the web, and which allowed the comedian to fulfill several professional fantasies in the company of guest artists, including running a hotel and feeding animals in a zoo.
