Mathieu opened the Walbrew brewery in Tarbes in 2019. He started a few years earlier with not much, the bare minimum just to tell himself “I make my beer”. Passionate about hops, and faced with the success of his beers, he wanted (and had to) think bigger. Today you can find the Walbrew in wine shops in Bigourdans and Béarnais.
The important thing is to have fun
The Walbrew spirit is about making beer seriously, without taking yourself too seriously. Mathieu applies himself as much to explaining the chemical reactions required to produce beer, as to developing funky and cheeky labels thanks to the artist Tomc. He has one principle: his beer must be festive! Consume in moderation, and laugh at all times…
