Shocked by his brother’s accusations, Paul Pogba responded by declaring that he had suffered “extortion attempts in an organized gang”. “Mathias Pogba’s recent statements on social networks are unfortunately not a surprise. The competent authorities in Italy and France were seized a month ago”.
Mathias Pogba taken into custody
This Wednesday September 14, 2022, the newspaper Le Monde reveals that Mathias Pogba presented himself to the investigators within the framework of the judicial investigation opened in particular by the leader of “extortion with a weapon in an organized gang”. The 32-year-old young man, who is a footballer like his little brother, was reportedly placed in police custody with three other people whose identities we do not know for the moment.
As a reminder, on September 2, the Paris prosecutor’s office opened a “judicial investigation against X of the counts of extortion with a weapon in an organized gang, kidnapping or sequestration with release before the seventh day in an organized gang to prepare or facilitate the commission of a crime or an offense and participation in a criminal association in to commit a crime”.
Paul Pogba had indeed claimed that some of his childhood friends had put pressure on him and tried to extort 13 million euros from him, including 3 million to be paid immediately.
