Aeronautics is the story of a sector which experienced during the Covid the most serious crisis in its history and which today sees its activity take off again with the resumption of traffic and travel. As Guillaume Faury, head of Airbus and president of the Group of Industrialists of the branch (Gifas) explains: “The recovery is very dynamic not only in the short term but also when looking to the future.”.

This optimism is explained by the volume of orders. But the demand returned to the pre-crisis level is coming up against complicated production capacities, which generates tensions on the ramp-up of aircraft manufacturing. So much so that today Airbus is struggling to resume the pace of deliveries of its star A320 single-aisle aircraft, which are going like hot cakes.

Need to recruit in all branches of activity

The shortage of labor takes over from other problems, such as the scarcity of raw materials and electronic components, with the breakdown of supply chains. As a result, aeronautics and space companies want to recruit 25,000 people this year. Levels of qualification required: from CAP to Bac+8. For those who are interested, it’s time to prepare and send resumes.

Among the most sought-after profiles are technicians, in particular fitters and boilermakers. Attention, contrary to their connotation – there is really a problem of communication around these professions of the future – it must be explained that these are rewarding professions today in terms of knowledge, practice and remuneration. The industries that are hiring (large groups such as SMEs) make it clear that candidates for these positions are guaranteed to be hired on attractive financial terms.

The Group of French aeronautical and space industries is counting in particular on the air show to be held at the end of June at Le Bourget, in the north of the Paris region. To attract high school students, students and job seekers, everyone will have free access to the show. The opportunity or never to get a job if these sectors interest you.
