On Friday 27 May, the Photo Hebdo section looks back on the week’s news. She talks about the massacre in a school in Texas, Queen Elizabeth II and a tightrope walker.
After the massacre in a school in Texas (United States), which occurred on Tuesday May 24, the children collect their thoughts, as shown by the photo of a young girl carrying a bouquet of flowers. In Manila (Philippines), the effigy of the new president, son of a former dictator, is burned. In the Palace of Versailles (Yvelines), the Bourbon dynasty organized a party which brought together 700 guests, all dressed as in the time of Louis XIV. A monarch still in place will be celebrated, in the United Kingdom. Sovereign Elizabeth II is preparing to celebrate her 70th anniversary of reign.
At Mont-Saint-Michel (Manche), the tightrope walker Nathan Paulin, on his strap, reached the top of the monument, after crossing 2.2 km on a wire, thus beating a record. Still in lightness, the photographic recap of the week ends with a rodent, which climbs along a stem in order to steal dandelion seeds.
