(Winnipeg) The Winnipeg Jets have signed forward Mason Appleton, who was a restricted free agent, to a three-year, $6.5 million contract.

Both parties thus avoided wage arbitration.
Appleton, 26, had eight goals and 13 assists last season in 68 games with the Seattle Kraken and Jets.
The Kraken had secured the services of Appleton from the Jets in the expansion draft. They sent the USA support striker back to his old team the day before the trade deadline.
Appleton had set personal highs with 12 goals and 13 assists in 56 games for the Jets in 2020-21.
Jets 2015 sixth-round pick, 168e in total, Appleton had 28 goals and 36 assists in 206 NHL games with the Jets and Kraken.
