In Sunday night’s final at TVA, they took over the play Someone Like You Adele and walk away with the prestigious Golden Mask.

Only the investigator Stéphane Rousseau had guessed, from their first performance, the identity of the Inseparable.

Marie-Élaine Thibert and Wilfred LeBouthillier found themselves happily together. They were on their third big project together, after Star Academy 18 years ago and the Worldbest, in 2004, in Cannes, where they took second place in this international competition between finalists from different cohorts of Star Academy worldwide.

“It was the first time that Wilfred and I, since Star Academy and Worldbest, we worked together to get a result, ”said Marie-Élaine, in an interview with the QMI Agency.

“He told me, before I agreed to do the project, that we had to go to the end, as if Star Academy, she continued. He’s super competitive and besides, I got into the game too, taking it more and more seriously. ”

Like the other participants of the season of Masked singers, including Marie-Claude Barrette, Michel Bergeron, Lise Dion, Ludivine Reding, Sophie Thibault and Lise Watier, it was quite an experience for them not to tell anyone about the project and to appear at the recordings masked from head to toe to not to be recognized.

Marie-Élaine Thibert stressed that she was relieved to finally be released from her secret because her relatives were asking her more and more questions. Admirers also wrote to her asking if she was hiding under the costume of one of the two birds.

“We were the only duo among the masked singers, so I was really lucky to be with my big brother. All the other participants were holed up in their dressing room, alone, but we could laugh together, take pictures, talk, ”recounted Marie-Élaine, who is preparing for the launch, in January, of the first single from her new album. to be released in March.
