Mask Singer: Panic behind the scenes, a star loses his means and worries the production

Tuesday evening was broadcast the first episode of the new season of Mask Singer on TF1. Six first personalities were presented to viewers and jurors, Vitaa, Kev Adams, Chantal Ladesou and Jeff Panacloc. At least, under their costumes. Because, like every year, we will have to play the investigators and use the clues revealed to unmask them all. The Baby and Gingerbread characters have already been eliminated. Under these exceptional and once again bluffing disguises were hidden Marianne James and Frédéric Diefenthal. If the experience was brief, it was no less incredible for each of them. For the star actorHere it all startsnot everything was easy.

Indeed, when putting on his Gingerbread costume for the first time, Frédéric Diefenthal remembered that he would have to face a major problem: his claustrophobia. The excitement then quickly turned into a big blow of stress. “I forgot that… I’m claustrophobic. I hadn’t calculated that I was going to be locked up. The little stupid detail! I can’t stand being locked up, my hands are sweaty there“, he told his costume designer, laughing nervously as we discover in Mask Singer, the investigation continues. Later, backstage, he explained the origin of this fear: “Confinement is a kid’s thing. When we were playing hide-and-seek, there were some who had the good idea to sit down together on a trunk. I don’t think it was that long but long enough that today I don’t like it“.

Finally, after several attempts, Frédéric Diefenthal was rather confident and reassured for the future. But, during the rehearsals on stage, he had a big panic attack and was forced to stop during the performance to find his means. What make the teams of the show nervous. “We had moments of panic. We started running to see if everything was okay. He was sometimes on the verge of uneasiness. When you’re claustrophobic and you choose a close-fitting costume like that, it’s not easy. Well done to the artist“, recognized him one of the producers Anthony Meunier.

Fortunately, at the time of recording, Frédéric Diefenthal did very well. A beautiful revenge on his fear!
