Saint-Laurent MP Marwah Rizqy gave birth to her first baby, Gabriel, in the past few hours. On social networks, the new mother shared a photo from her hospital bed, accompanied by her husband, the MP for Jacques-Cartier, Greg Kelley, and their baby.
“Pure happiness, thank you life!” [Greg Kelley] and I present to you Gabriel Kelley. A little in a hurry like his mother, but as calm as his father…for now, ”she tweeted Thursday morning. The date of delivery has not been specified. The two elected officials, who met on the opposition benches during the last term, were married in the summer of 2021.
She had opened last May, on Facebook, on the use of assisted procreation. She finally got pregnant after a second in vitro fertilization treatment. “To you who are waiting for a positive result, keep hope! I understand much better the process and the many pitfalls to affirm without being mistaken that you are strong and courageous, ”she wrote.
Prime Minister François Legault sent his congratulations to the couple on Twitter. Several members of the National Assembly have done the same.
