Rennes offered a new attacking festival (3-0) against Montpellier, Sunday October 30 for the account of the 13th day of Ligue 1. Monaco (2-0 against Angers) and Auxerre (1-0 in front of Ajaccio) ensured home, when Nantes (1-1 against Clermont) and Brest (0-0 against Reims) were hooked. Back to the highlights of the afternoon.
The tile: the series of Le Bris broken by Nice
Undefeated at Moustoir this season, Lorient saw its good streak broken by Nice (1-2). The Hakes however led at half-time and had procured a plethora of chances, without doubling the bet. Hungry Azurians reversed the situation in the second act, by Youcef Atal then Gaëtan Laborde. Finally regular if not flamboyant, the Niçois signed a fourth match without defeat in a row in all competitions. The Bretons of Régis Le Bris stall on the other hand and have not won any of their last three meetings, after winning the previous six.
The player: Martin Terrier asserts himself before the World Cup
This has been a constant for over a year. Each time Didier Deschamps prepares to reveal the players selected in blue, the name of Martin Terrier comes up. The Rennes offensive player is indeed resplendent this year. Scorer from the 15th minute against Montpellier (3-0 final score), the ex-Lyonnais scored his 5th goal in as many games. Terrier was at the base of a new festival, in which his friends Arnaud Kalimuendo and Amine Gouiri also scored, to temporarily bring the Rennais to the podium.
The goal: Hamza Sakhi caresses the Ajaccio skylight
Hamza Sakhi is easy to digest. It was not 1:05 p.m. when the Auxerre midfielder cleared Benjamin Leroy’s skylight after a good combination from a corner. Rather than sending a missile, the Franco-Moroccan preferred to brush the leather at twenty-five meters to place it out of reach of the Ajaccio goalkeeper. Christophe Pélissier did not ask for so much: for his first, the new Burgundy coach signed a capital success (1-0) against Ajaccio, a direct competitor in the fight for maintenance. It was time, since the AJA, which remained on eight games without success, thus leaves the red zone.

The figure: 31 goals conceded by Angevins at the bottom of the hole
Red lantern, the SCO conceded its fifth defeat in a row in Monaco (0-2). Dumb, the Angevins were especially not reassured behind. Goalkeeper Yahia Fofana certainly delayed the deadline by stopping a penalty, but Angers conceded two new pawns to Louis II. This new defensive failure brings the number of goals conceded to 31, the worst total in Ligue 1.
To measure the scale of the project, the Scoists are doing worse than Bordeaux last year, which had conceded 27 goals at this stage … and broke the record for goals conceded in the 21st century. With four points behind the first non-relegation, there is urgency in Anjou.
