It was a note in one of his psychologist’s reports that allowed the jury to learn that Martin Lévesque had confessed “suicidal and homicidal” ideas to his therapist during the pandemic.
The man accused of the murder of his neighbor Patricia Sirois explained in cross-examination Thursday that he had expressed the idea of attacking Prime Minister Justin Trudeau following the measures imposed during the pandemic. Speaking of a man who had been arrested after forcing the outer fences of Rideau Hall, Martin Lévesque had evoked a sinister plan.

“I said that if it had been me, I would have come in there with an armored truck full of explosives and I would have blown myself up there,” the 50-year-old told the court, assuring that these remarks were “ wacky” and “not achievable”.
However, the psychologist who treated him at the time found the threat serious enough to “make a pact” with Lévesque, enjoining him not to take action.

Despite this incident, the notes of experts treating Lévesque presented by the Crown on Thursday demonstrate a significant improvement in the general condition of the man in the weeks preceding the tragedy which took place on September 10, 2021.
“Clear improvement”, “good and stable mood”, “maximum rehabilitation capacity reached”, “sleeps well”, “he continues to go well”, Crown prosecutor Matthieu Rochette tried to paint a portrait of the jury for the jury. a very different man from the troubled and hypervigilant ex-serviceman, frightened by the threat of attempted break-ins, who testified before them.

“No”, once again retorted nervously the accused, who admitted to having possibly realized the evening of the murder that he had just committed a serious act.
“During your interactions with the police, when you say that you are the culprit, at that moment, you know that you have just done something wrong,” asked Me Rochette.
