Märtha Louise’s spouse faces allegations of sexual misconduct

Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett’s recent wedding is overshadowed by serious allegations against Verrett. Joakim Boström accuses the shaman of sexual assault, claiming inappropriate touching during multiple sessions. Initially charmed by Verrett, Boström later described his behavior as consistently sexualized. Regretting his decision not to report the incidents, Boström criticized Verrett’s motives and influence within the Norwegian royal family. Verrett’s spokesperson dismissed the allegations, citing the nature of his healing practices and Boström’s prior consent.

In late August 2024, Princess Märtha Louise, 53, and Durek Verrett, 49, celebrated their love with a lavish wedding attended by members of the Norwegian royal family over several days. However, the couple is now confronting troubling allegations. Joakim Boström, 49, recently revealed in an interview with ‘Se og Hør’ that the controversial shaman purportedly exploited his role to engage in sexual misconduct, an experience Boström claims to have endured firsthand.

Swedish Father Accuses Durek Verrett of Inappropriate Conduct

Joakim Boström expressed his disbelief, stating, “It’s insane that he is associated with the Norwegian royal family! To me, Durek is solely focused on power and status. It’s shocking that so many fail to recognize this.” Boström noted that he first encountered Verrett in New York in 2015, where their friendship blossomed over shared visits to bars. Initially admiring Verrett’s confidence and charm, Boström later perceived a shift in their relationship dynamic.

As their friendship progressed, Boström claims Verrett’s flirtations became increasingly intrusive. During a healing session, Boström alleges that things escalated when Durek reportedly began to touch him inappropriately. Reflecting on the incident, Boström recounted, “I found this behavior very odd at first, but weeks later, when I moved back to Stockholm, Durek reached out for me to represent him in Sweden, where I helped him find clients.”

Incidents of Inappropriate Touching

Boström recounted a troubling experience during a session in Sweden, declaring, “He started to touch my genitals. I reacted angrily, asking, ‘What do you think is going to happen? Do you want me to get an erection?'” Despite his pleas for Verrett to stop, Boström claims that Durek persisted, seeming intent on coercing him into sexual activity.

When asked if he classified this incident as sexual assault, Boström firmly responded, “Yes, without a doubt. But it wasn’t isolated to that one session—looking back, I realize his behavior was consistently sexualized. It became exhausting.”

Regrets Over Not Reporting the Incident

Reflecting on the situation, Boström expressed regret for not filing a report against Verrett. “I could have reported him for groping and making continuous sexual advances. I wish I had acted sooner to gather evidence against him. But at the time, my priority was simply to remove him from my life,” shared the father of two.

Response from Durek Verrett’s Representative

In light of these allegations, Jenni Weinman, the new spokesperson for Durek Verrett, provided a statement to ‘Se og Hør.’ She described Boström as Verrett’s former Swedish agent, claiming he was dismissed due to an inappropriate relationship with a female colleague. Furthermore, she explained that Verrett often performs various healing techniques, which necessitate physical contact—and that a legal document is signed by clients to protect against malicious claims.

Weinman also questioned the validity of Boström’s claims, implying that since there was a second session, he may have consented to the prior touching. She suggested that the narrative was another attempt by ‘Se og Hør’ to undermine Durek Verrett’s reputation, emphasizing that he has positively impacted countless individuals worldwide.
