Married at first sight: Put “in the closet” by the production, a candidate speaks

Since 2016, M6 viewers have had the pleasure of discovering a new season of Married at first sight. And recently, they have had the pleasure of discovering a special program “What have they become?” to hear from former participants. But this year, not everything went as planned for some.

Married at first sight allowed some participants to find love. We think in particular of Charline and Vivien (season 3 in 2019) who renewed their vows in June 2021 and welcomed their daughter Victoire in January of the same year, to Elodie and Joachim (season 4 in 2020) who quickly moved in together, or Matthieu and Elodie from the last season, who became parents to little Lya last August.

If some have not found love, they have found precious friends. Many ex-candidates have contacted each other to share their experiences at first. Strong ties were then woven to the point that they organized weekends together. Internet users can see it on social networks. The last one took place in the south of France, last January, and notably brought together Marlène (2019), Matthieu, Sarah (2020) or even Yannick (2021). The next one is due to take place in Lyon in March and the M6 cameras were to follow them. But the production finally decided otherwise.

On the occasion of a question and answer session which began on February 15 and which ended on Wednesday 16, Marlène revealed that they will not be on the show “What have they become?” as was planned. “I will answer you in all sincerity and transparency. Few months ago, I was contacted by the production because they wanted to do a special episode What became of them? on the MAPR family. The episode was to trace the friendship between the contestants across a weekend (as you see on our social media). After making themselves available and having set a date, the producer preferred to ‘put us in the closet’ to finally favor the new candidates. So we decided to keep this weekend between us (and without cameras) in March, in Lyon”, can we read. No doubt they are not cold with the production of Married at first sight however. This may just be a postponement.
