A famous single in Hollywood, George Clooney saw his sentimental life change during a stay in Lake Como, a chic region of Italy that he adores, when he met a certain lawyer specializing in international law, the Lebanese-British Amal Alamuddin. One of his friends had warned him beforehand, telling him that this woman invited to his house, he was going to marry her for sure. The dashing actor and director laughed in his face at the time. Six months later, he actually married her on September 27, 2014. But before getting there, the star had concocted a romantic marriage proposal for him that he totally missed. He told it during the show hosted by Drew Barrymore on October 23.
On the set of Drew Barrymore Show, George Clooney returned to his relationship with his wife Amal. He shared how things didn’t go as planned for his famous marriage proposal: “It was a disaster, I had planned everything. I had put a ring in a drawer behind her, I had prepared dinner…“, explained the seductive hero ofOcean’s Eleven. Asking his future wife to open the famous drawer to look for a lighter to relight a candle, she fell on the ring, but thought that it had been forgotten by an ex of her companion. It was then that she saw her lover, knee to the ground and ready to propose… Somewhat disconcerted by this outcome that he had not expected, he ended up getting the answer he was waiting for of his beloved, after she realized her blunder and recovered from the emotion of the request.
Everything then accelerated for the couple. They said yes in Italy, in Venice precisely, five months later in the presence of their relatives, like Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford. For the various events that made up their nuptials, the statuesque lawyer had chosen several outfits by Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar de la Renta – for the wedding dress – or even Stella McCartney. If the request had been a little missed, the rest of the organization of the wedding was faultless, despite notorious absentees like Brad Pitt.
Now parents to twins Ella and Alexander, now 5, they made a recent and sublime appearance hand-in-hand for the Los Angeles promotion of the film Ticket to Paradisein which George Clooney shares the line with his great friend Julia Roberts.
