“Let’s sing Aznavour”, this is the name of the program dedicated to the singer who died in October 2018 and hosted by his friend Dany Brillant on the Folies Bergère stage. It is France 3 which broadcast this program, Friday, December 10.
Many artists were present around the one who recorded Dany Brillant sings Aznavour in duet. In particular Patrick Bruel! The 62-year-old singer, who took over I could see myself already originally released in 1960, shared a vivid memory of the performer of the Bohemia. While preparing an opus bringing together big names in French song, Amanda Sthers’ ex-husband wished to contact Charles Aznavour to ask him to be part of his project.
“Timidly, I take my phone, I call him, I say: ‘Hello Charles, it’s Patrick, I’m doing an album …’ ‘Yes, yes, I know, I am aware, the album of 1930s. Me, it’s Ménilmontant, it’s Saturday, it’s 3pm ‘”, he recalled. “On Saturday, at 3:00 p.m. sharp, he pushed open the studio door, he kept his coat on, he came behind the microphone. We took a take. I said: ‘Shall we do another?” He tells me : ‘To do what ? You don’t like this one? We will listen ‘“.“We listened, and at the end he looked at my brother, he said, ‘Are you okay? Thank you gentlemen, great. ” And he left.”
A sequence that pleased the whole room!
