Mark Scheifele can’t be stopped

Mark Scheifele has by far had his best moments of the season lately and he added more on Wednesday night against the Minnesota Wild with four points, including a hat trick, in a 6-3 win for the Jets in Winnipeg.

The center player extended his game streak with at least one goal to five. In doing so, he also added 11 points to his record.

The Jets’ first three goals came from Scheifele. He scored the first of his three goals in 10:47 midway through the second period, beating Cam Talbot from close range. Twelve seconds before the end of the engagement, the 28-year-old landed a perfect wrist shot in the upper part, on the power play.

Eventually, Scheifele caused a shower of headgear shortly after the change to the locker room, taking advantage of a generous throwing return into the slot.

He was also an accomplice to the success in an empty cage of Paul Stastny, while Cole Perfetti and Kyle Connor also hit the target.

Mats Zuccarello and Kirill Kaprizov picked up two points apiece in the loss. The Norwegian was one of the few able to beat Connor Hellebuyck, who made 33 saves.
