Marion Maréchal, who had already supported Eric Zemmour for the first round of the presidential election, confirmed on Tuesday her support for the far-right essayist by announcing her appointment as executive vice-president of his “Reconquest!” movement.
“I have decided to join the Reconquete2022 movement and to become fully involved in it. I am therefore pleased to announce my appointment as Executive Vice-President”wrote on Twitter
the former member of the National Front and niece of Marine Le Pen, on the eve of the debate between the two rounds.
Eric Zemmour confirms the composition of the executive bureau and the political committee of his movement, with his partner Sarah Knafo in the first instance, and Marion Maréchal, Guillaume Peltier and Stanislas Rigault, president of “Generation Z”, as vice- executive presidents.
The candidate, who aspired to reach the second round of the French presidential election, came fourth on April 10 with 7.1% of the vote. The ex-candidate of “Reconquest!” has not yet decided on a candidacy for the June legislative elections but his national movement, which claims 121,000 members, intends to present candidates “everywhere” in France.
