Marine Le Pen’s niece reinforces her support for Eric Zemmour. After having supported the far-right candidate for the presidential election, Marion Maréchal announced that she was officially joining the Reconquête! party, Tuesday April 19 on Twitter. She was named the movement’s executive vice president.

The former deputy of Vaucluse therefore formalizes her commitment to Eric Zemmour, who obtained 7.07% of the votes in the first round of the presidential election. She had joined him in early March after several weeks of rumors, which her aunt had presented as a family betrayal. “EObviously, it’s brutal, it’s violent, it’s difficult for me”had reacted the candidate in January. On April 12, Marine Le Pen assured that neither Marion Maréchal nor Eric Zemmour would be part of his government in the event of victory in the second round.

The Reconquest party! also presented the composition of its governing bodies on the same day, through a press release. The executive office brings together the main supporters of Eric Zemmour during the campaign: Marion Maréchal will be accompanied as vice-president by Nicolas Bay and Guillaume Peltier (defectors from the National Rally and the Republicans), as well as by Stanislas Rigault (president of Génération Z), and by Sarah Knafo, who holds many key positions.

The former deputy of Vaucluse left politics in 2017 to found ISSEP, a private institute in Lyon. Two of its leaders are the subject of a complaint for “moral harassment”.
