Marion Jollès moved a year after her husband’s accident: “Everything could have changed”

On November 29, 2020, the life of Romain Grosjean took an unexpected turn. While competing in one of his last Formula 1 races in Bahrain, the 35-year-old driver is the victim of an accident of incredible violence. Hitting the front rail head-on, his car was literally cut in half. Seconds that seem like hours before seeing the Frenchman extricate himself from his cockpit. The latter miraculously got away with some severe burns to his left hand, but nothing very serious.

One year to the day after this traumatic accident, the pilot’s companion, Marion Jollès, posted a long message on his Instagram account to explain his feelings on this very special anniversary date … “It seems that he has a second date of birth … November 29, 2020. Should we also celebrate it? I much prefer his first!”, she begins. Married to Romain Grosjean since 2012 and mother of three children, the former journalist remains marked by this event which could have turned out to be tragic: “Impossible, all the same, not to think about it this morning. It was a year ago, and everything could have changed.”.

She shares several moments of life

To accompany this beautiful declaration, Marion Jollès published several moments in the life of the last months of the couple, all in connection with this accident which could have been fatal. Between photos of Romain Grosjean, the drawing of his daughter Sacha and the gifts received, the former journalist slipped a strong emotional video. “I took the video, or should I say stolen it, from his team’s garage when he returned there shortly after the accident.”, she says.

A second date of birth? Like a second chance … I am well aware of it

To conclude her message, the beautiful brunette of 39 years returns to this story of the anniversary date: “A second date of birth? Like a second chance … I am well aware of it. Love you, Romain. And more”.
