It is the cinema event of this beginning of the year. Wednesday 1er February 2023 releases in all dark rooms the family feature film Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom. A film by and with Guillaume Canet. With a colossal budget of 63 million euros and a pharaonic cast at stake, the project took four years of work and intends to be one of the most profitable in French cinema. Huge pressure for the director of Les Petits Mouchoirs who is embarking for the first time on a great adventure saga, whose Gallic characters belong to French popular culture. Embodying Asterix, the little mustached man with a bit of a nasty but tender heart, Guillaume Canet naturally thought of the one who was his companion for a long time to interpret the tempestuous Cleopatra. With Marion Cotillard, he formed one of the most glamorous couples in French cinema, but also one of the most united around their two children, Marcel (born in 2011) and Louise (born in 2017). But after more than ten years of love, these two have decided to go their separate ways. And “La môme” in particular to settle in Los Angeles where she lives three-quarters of the time.

A revival of romance in the air?
