This Monday, January 9, 2023, Marion Cotillard took to her social networks to share a powerful video made with the aim of putting an end to executions in Iran. In it, more than 50 personalities gathered to denounce the unacceptable situation which has lasted for far too long in the country nicknamed Tim Melli. Cate Blanchett, Jason Momoa, Samuel L. Jackson, Jada Pinkett Smith or Bryan Cranston. All were united in this co-designed project “by Iranian-American screenwriter Nicole Najafi, director, screenwriter and producer Ana Lily Amirpour and actress-screenwriter Mozhan Marnò “, reports Paris Match.
“Putting pressure on the Islamic Republic”
In the images, we can see the artists holding signs with the hashtag #StopExecutionsInIran written on them. The goal is to encourage Internet users to do the same for ” draw as much attention as possible to this issue and in doing so put pressure on the Islamic Republic”Mozhan Marnò recently explained in the columns of the Hollywood Reporter. “The other goal is to show Iranians in Iran that the world is with them, that they are not forgotten, that their protests and their suffering are not in vain. They are out there in the streets risking their lives, and this has been going on for months now,” she added.
Visibly touched by the involvement of Marion Cotillard in this action, the fans of the actress did not fail to applaud her. “You are not only a great actress, you are also an exceptional human”, “Thank you for being our voice”, “Thank you for your support”, “They just performed 2 more”, “More than bogus trial. They have just sentenced 3 other demonstrators to death. Be their voice please”, could we read in the comments. A great initiative.
