Marine Tondelier (EELV) in favor of a delay

Monday, February 27, the national secretary of the French Communist Party, Fabien Roussel, spoke of a “social bomb” concerning the establishment of low emission zones (ZFE). “Air pollution in France is 48,000 deaths per year. There is no denying it. In large cities, the lever for action is mostly road traffic”explains Marine Tondelier, national secretary of Europe Ecology Les Verts, guest of the “4 Truths” of France 2, Tuesday, February 28.

“Ecology can only be on the left”

The national secretary of Europe Ecologie Les Verts says she is in favor, “Of course”to the fact of taking time on the ZFE, citing the example of the metropolis of Lyon which decided to postpone. “Why do we have to take our time today? Because the government hasn’t anticipated anything”she adds.

Is ecology necessarily a leftist value? “Ecology is inseparable from social justice. […] We are going to very, very dark times. Ecology can only be left in the sense of tolerance, inclusiveness, justice, acceptability and, above all, emancipation”wants to believe Marine Tondelier.
