Marine Le Pen, despite a third defeat in the presidential election, Sunday April 24, recorded a historic score for the National Rally: 41% of the vote, against 33% in 2017. If the big cities voted for Emmanuel Macron, more than one in two municipalities voted for Marine Le Pen. Example in Bédarrides, in the Vaucluse.

In Bédarrides (Vaucluse) Marine Le Pen came out ahead in the second round of the presidential election, Sunday April 24, with more than 68% of the vote, indicates journalist Frédérique Poret, present on the spot, Monday April 25. She met several local residents the day after the election. “Since I’ve been here, it’s always been like that. It’s that we like it, surely”says a man. “Here, we want change”says another.

“Here, we want Le Pen. Why? I don’t know exactly, but hey”, laughs a resident. A woman is annoyed by the amount of her shopping. “Hats off to France”, she says. If voters want to defend their purchasing power, they also want to maintain a form of tranquility, far from the surrounding towns. “In Carpentras (Vaucluse), where we used to live with my partner, she had her wallet stolen and everything. People, I think, are afraid”confides a young man, who recognizes that there is “no problem” in Bedarrides.
