Since 2000, Marina Carrère d’Encausse presents The Health Magazine. A program that she hosted with the presence of Michel Cymes until 2018. The host confided in the podcast tv women of Tele-Leisure to come back to this collaboration with the most famous doctor of the PAF and the way it was treated in its beginnings.
“It was complicated to obtain legitimacy because first of all, I am a woman. There are few channels where a woman is alone at the head of a program, it is still not frequent! When I I was with Michel Cymes, I had to impose myself because you have to do it twice, when you are a woman more to be credible”she recalled. “It’s very complicated. There are often guests who turn to Michel (Cymes, editor’s note) saying “the doctor is you” … For a long time, no one imagined that I was actually doctor !”
If she has never been confronted with machismo or sexism like many of her colleagues, the doc has experienced moments “irritating”. “And TV is a man’s world, even if it’s changing. When I started, it was a pretty macho world… There were times when it was a little annoying. I wasn’t told I have never made remarks that are neither sexist nor macho. I have never been confronted with any form of sexism or machismo (…) except that having to work twice more to be legitimate, that is one!”she concluded.
Tuesday, March 22 from 9 p.m., the one who wrote, Childhood memories, in 13 à table! will present Cheaper treatment, scams and good deals. A program that will be broadcast on France 5.
