“The magazine was not essential, but doing public service health was absolutely essential“, declares Marina Carrère d’Encausse, Friday May 31. For 26 years, the doctor has been the emblematic figure of the “Health Magazine” broadcast live on France 5 every day at 1:40 p.m. This program, devoted to medicine, thought it would see its final hour arrive a few weeks ago, but that was without counting on the strong mobilization of the team, the viewers and a forum of scientists, thus encouraging France Televisions to reconsider its decision.
“Le Magazine de la santé” will continue its information mission, but without Marina Carrère d’Encausse, who says goodbye on Friday. “Turning a page of 26 years is something special“, she confides and it is a retrospective number, already recorded, which will be broadcast at 1:40 p.m. on Friday. A filming which greatly moved Marina Carrère d’Encausse and which reveals behind the scenes: “there are many veterans who came back for this show, like Michel Cymes, obviously, and it was a great moment of joy, emotion, a little bit of sadness. It was really beautiful“.
At the start of the school year, we will find “Le Magazine de la santé” with the presentation by Doctor Jimmy Mohamed, who is a regular here. “Ona teams that are exceptional and it would have been such a shame if they no longer provided this service that I would have been sad“, explain Marina Carrère d’Encausse. “We have journalists who have worked with us for a very long time. The host will continue her show “In search of health” still on France 5, plans to write new novels and wishes to continue making societal documentaries.
