Marilou Berry attacks Fanny Ardant who firmly defends Gérard Depardieu

Accused of rape and sexual assault, Gérard Depardieu has been at the heart of a heated controversy since December 7. It was on this date that the channel France 2 broadcast an issue of the show Additional Investigationin which we discover previously unseen images of the 74-year-old actor during a stay in North Korea.

Despite this, the actor enjoys strong support from a multitude of celebrities. On December 25, 2023, a group of 56 personalities signed a forum to defend the actor against the media lynching to which he would be subjected. “We can no longer remain silent in the face of the lynching that has befallen him, in the face of the torrent of hatred that is poured upon his person, without nuance, in the most complete amalgam and in contempt of a presumption of innocence which he would have benefited, like everyone else, if he was not the giant of cinema that he is” they protested.

Shocked by this petition, Marilou Berry, who very often speaks on subjects considered taboo, has just expressed her anger against Fanny Ardantfamous French actress who firmly defended Gérard Depardieu. “I can no longer hear Fanny Ardant’s speech. But I know that she is part of a generation where the norm was to keep your mouth shut, or even agree to sleep to get a role. And then, it’s difficult to admit that we belong to this system” she declared in the columns of the next issue of Télé Star which will be on newsstands Monday January 1, 2024.

As a reminder, Fanny Ardant spoke on December 19, 2023 on RTL radio. “From the moment an accusation was thrown at him… I thought it was one of the pillars of democracy, justice. And so, justice is no longer expressed? Is this just the popular voice? I always thought that a new society established through fear was a totalitarian society.” she had said.

And to add: “If we betray our friend, we are a snitch, that’s a term in prison. That is to say, we must remain faithful to the people we love (…) Me, I have always thought that the greatest strength of a country was freedom, diversity of opinions, discussions, dialectics. Whereas here, I can say that what is happening with Gérard is a challenge to death”.
