Marie Wattel vice-champion of Europe in the 100m butterfly

The French Marie Wattel, already silver in the 50-meter butterfly on Saturday, became vice-champion of Europe in the 100 meters of the same discipline on Monday in Rome. Marie Wattel, 25, crowned in 2021 at the European Championships in Budapest, clocked 56 sec 80, behind Sweden’s Louise Hansson (56.66) and ahead of Bosnian Lana Pudar (57.27). “I missed my race a bit, I’m really disappointed”, declared Marie Watel to our colleagues from francetvsport. In June, the Frenchwoman became vice-world champion in the 100m butterfly in Budapest behind the American Torri Huske.
