Marie-Ève Proulx will withdraw her candidacy for her own re-election

A few days before the start of the next election campaign, CAQ MP Marie-Ève Proulx will announce on Monday that she is withdrawing her candidacy.

Ms. Proulx will announce this decision shortly after Prime Minister François Legault renewed his confidence in her, following new allegations of psychological harassment.

The member, who represents the riding of Côte-du-Sud, where the city of Montmagny is located, will meet the media in the early afternoon, said a government source.

Recently, Ms. Proulx had been the subject of a complaint for psychological harassment from a former political attaché before the Administrative Labor Tribunal (TAT), according to information reported in early August by The Journal of Montreal.

A year ago, the MP resigned from her ministerial duties due to similar allegations.

More details will follow.
