Marie Drucker was featured in the magazine SHE of February 10, 2022. The beautiful 47-year-old brunette notably returned to her years at France Télévisions and especially to her departure from the television news of the second channel, after having officiated there for eight years.
New challenge for Marie Drucker: it is at the cinema that Jean’s mother (born in April 2015 from her past relationship with the senior French official and business leader Mathias Vicherat) will shine in the film Another world, by Stéphane Briszé, in theaters from February 16. The spectators will see her in the skin of a certain Claire. A cinematographic work carried by Vincent Lindon and Sandrine Kiberlain. If she knew the world of television by heart, the world of cinema was brand new to her: “On TV, we know how we are filmed, styled, made up, lit, we have the hand. There it’s the opposite, we don’t have a say, we give up.”
If she sailed towards new horizons, Marie Drucker will remain for many viewers the woman who presented the 8 p.m. news on France 2 from 2008 to 2016. It was she who made the decision to leave because she no longer felt in its place. A choice that she did not regret and that she kept to herself before announcing it. “I gave everything to this job, which gave it back to me, but Six years ago, I had a realization: the profession had changed, I found myself less in the rhythm, the competition, the superficiality of a world where everything goes very quickly. I felt like I was frustrated, not learning anymore. (…) I didn’t want to hear: ‘But you’re crazy, you earn a good living, you’re at 8 p.m.!‘”, she continued with our colleagues.
After her departure, she created her production company NoSchool Productions, aimed at the creation of documentaries and fiction programs. And it was better not to talk to her about current events because she opted for a “radical withdrawal“: “I haven’t looked at a newspaper or listened to the radio for almost four years. I knew the tricks too well. I wanted to change time. To no longer be dependent on this form of tyranny”, she clarified. She still read thebackground topics“to stay informed.
