Marie-Caroline Le Pen, Marine’s sister, is nominated by the National Rally for the 4th constituency of Sarthe, the franceinfo political service learned from an internal party source, confirming information from the Parisian.
This constituency includes the town of Sablé, historic stronghold of François Fillon. In the last legislative elections of 2022, Elise Leboucher (LFI-Nupes), narrowly won with 50.15% of the votes against a candidate from the National Rally. Furthermore, the list of investitures of the National Rally has been completed, and will be partly broadcast on Thursday afternoon, franceinfo also learned.
Marie-Caroline Le Pen has already run for legislative elections under the National Front label, notably twice in the 6th constituency of Hauts-de-Seine against Nicolas Sarkozy in March 1993 and in September 1995, as well as in the 8th constituency. des Yvelines in June 1997. The following year, she and her husband Philippe Olivier were excluded from the party by Jean-Marie Le Pen after joining the National Republican Movement (MNR) of Bruno Mégret.
