If she is less present than in the past on television, Marianne James does not forget her fans. In fact, she often gives them an appointment on her Instagram account, through her pastille “You are amazing”, in which she most often tells a career anecdote. But last week, the former member of the jury of “The New Star” on M6wished to take a leap into the past.
Indeed, the artist who returns to the boards in September 2023 throughout France with her new show entitled Everything is in the voice, mentioned an anecdote from the time when she worked with Philippe Bouvard. Always present in “The Big Heads” on RTL, Marianne James served under the orders of the 93-year-old journalist. And it was during this time that she suffered a horrible humiliation.

The pain au chocolat of discord
“At the time when I was doing the Big Heads on RTL, we arrived a little early, we columnists around Philippe Bouvard and we had a kind of lounge just before doing the show”she indicated at first before specifying: “A small living room where there is a woman who serves you coffee and tea because we were recording in the morning. And there were small pastries, very small… I take a pain au chocolat”.
A “serious error” according to the rest of the story told by the 61-year-old artist. In effect, “the guest who was to do the whole show with [eux] was a very, very big shot”. “A very well-known doctor, a very big gentleman, I won’t tell you the name, specialized in obesity, specialized in stomach operations, in short… He sees me taking the chocolate bread. He grabs my hand, he turns my hand around, but he really hurts me with the pain au chocolat. He gets the pain au chocolat. And in front of me, he crumbles it and makes everything fall”then reveals Marianne James.
Marianne James furious and hurt
The doctor then said to him: “You don’t need that, you don’t need that! It’s bad for you!”. A humiliation that hurt the artist. In fact, when the show was filmed, Marianne James told her that she “rotten his show”. “I managed to overwhelm him, to destabilize him, it was such a violent gesture. He is a doctor, he knows the history of obesity well, and so do I… He had no to do that”she finally concluded, still very uplifted and hurt.
