Margot Robbie takes on Monopoly and Blumhouse relaunches The Blair Witch Project

(Las Vegas) Margot Robbie grabs another toy. The producer and star actress of barbie is in the process of formatting a film Monopoly in collaboration with Hasbro and Lionsgate, the companies announced Wednesday at the CinemaCon conference in Las Vegas.

It’s Mme Robbie and his production company LuckyChap who made the project possible barbie to succeed after many years of stagnation in its development. The film dominated the box office in 2023 with over US$1.4 billion in worldwide ticket sales. After the doll, the next step is a board game.

Lionsgate also announced the development of a new Blair Witch Project with the horror experts at Blumhouse, the studio behind The Purge And M3GAN. These projects mark the first multi-year pact between Jason Blum’s company and Lionsgate, drawing on titles from the studio’s library.

The first Blair Witch Project was released in 1999 and became a box office phenomenon. It grossed 248 million, spawned two sequels, and changed the look of many horror films that followed.
