Hairdresser since 2010, Marcus Villeneuve is now enjoying enormous success thanks to his remarkable presence on social networks.
In his case, it is rather his job as a hairdresser that made him popular on the web. He now happens to do a few paid partnerships on Instagram, even though it’s not his main job, he says.
The one who regularly does Véronique Cloutier, Marilou, Julie St-Pierre, Annie Villeneuve, Marjo and, more recently, Mayor Bruno Marchand confides that his popular Instagram page [Marcuuus]followed by more than 42,000 subscribers, boosted the traffic to its Quebec City hair salon by 80%.
Even if the creation of content is for him only a simple “little more”, the hairdresser of 34 years admits that it allows him to make paid partnerships and exchanges of services, beneficial to his company.

“I don’t need this [création de contenu] to live. I’m going to look for the advantages and disadvantages, I don’t need them since it’s not my rhythm of life”, he says, while he does not impose any objective in terms of number posts per week.
Open since 2015, the salon Chez Marcus – L’espace has grown from two to fourteen employees in two years.
