The Minnesota Wild granted forward Marcus Johansson a two-year contract extension on Tuesday.
The agreement valid until the end of the 2024-2025 season will allow the 32-year-old veteran to receive $2 million annually.
The Wild acquired Johansson from the Washington Capitals on Feb. 23 for a third-round pick in the 2024 draft.

In 20 games with the Minnesota club during the regular season, the Swede had six goals and 12 assists for 18 points. He also scored two goals in six playoff games.
“I absolutely love everything about this place, this group and the team,” said Johansson, whose comments were reported by the National Hockey League website. [LNH]. It’s an incredible team. […] I feel good there since day 1 and I liked my first experience there.”
This is indeed Johansson’s second stint with the Wild, as he also briefly wore the colors of this organization in 2020-2021.
In his NHL career, the man who also played for the New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabers and Seattle Kraken hit the target 163 times and provided 290 assists for 453 points in 833 met.
