Immigration law: “the Senate has gone too far”
“The Senate went much too far, it distorted the balance of the text supported by the government”, denounces the Renaissance deputy, while the upper house finished this Friday evening the examination of the immigration bill. The text will be put to the vote this Tuesday, before arriving at the National Assembly. The senators toughened the text, notably by deleting article 3 which proposed to regularize undocumented workers working in professions in shortage. The text now provides that the situation of employees in professions in shortage will be examined on a case-by-case basis by the prefects.
