Married since 1995, Marc Lavoine (59) and Sarah Poniatowski (48) announced their divorce on March 28, 2018 after more than 23 years together. It was the second marriage of the singer who had married in the early 1980s the American model Denise Pascale with whom he had a son born in 1986 named Simon. With Sarah, Marc Lavoine became the father of Yasmine (born in 1998) Roman (born in 2007) and Milo (born in 2010). Eight years later and when everything seemed to be going for the best, the couple separated when they appeared more in love than ever a few weeks earlier during an official event.

Interviewed by the Parisian weekend in May 2018, the singer confided: “In my previous album, there is a song called Our history. This is of course my story with Sarah. Because love moves, but it’s still there. I spent a quarter of a century with her, almost a lifetime. I wrote a lot for Sarah.”
With journalists from Star TV, he revealed how much he wanted above all to keep good relations with the mother of his children: “I can tell you that when you have loved someone for twenty-four years and you have three children, love moves.
